We want to introduce you to our Guide2nl partner SPIN Ideas and its owner, Veronica Guguian. She is a passionate, hard-working business owner who knows what it takes to be successful with marketing a business.

What does your business do?
SPIN Ideas is a marketing strategy agency. That means I am working with my clients to define a marketing goal, identify their audience and find the best way to tell their story to the right audience in order to achieve their marketing and business goals.
Who are your target clients?
We are working with start-ups, scale-ups and SME’s.
How long have you been in business?
I have almost 20 years of work experience. In this period I have created three companies.
Spin opened its doors in January 2017.
Where are you from originally?
How long have you been in the Netherlands?
For 9 years.
What were your reasons for moving to the Netherlands?
My partner received a job offer and we decided to take on this new adventure.
What is the main lesson you have learned while working in the Netherlands?
To be open. Amsterdam is full of so many interesting and amazing people from all corners of the world. There are so many cultures in one place. If you are “open” and curious, you will learn so much.
How long have you been a Guide2nl partner?
Since its beginning, so about 2 years now.
What were your main reasons for becoming a partner? What do you hope to get out of it?
I believe in Annebet and what she wants to do, and her program is in line with my own belief of “Why compete when you can partner.” We all have our own strengths and if we join forces we are able to provide a better service to our clients.
I apply the same principle in my work as well. I have a pool of experts, including marketers, that I bring in depending on the projects.
Similar to the other partners I hope to get visibility and clients.
This month you will be co-organizing the BASE Conference. Could you explain what this conference entails? For which companies is this conference interesting?
Our mission with the BASE conference is to bring together entrepreneurs, managers, and experts who want to build relationships, grow smartly, and learn so they can Build, Advance, Sustain, and Elevate theirs and each other’s businesses.
With BASE we are supporting scale-ups and SMEs in their growth by providing access to experts, peer discussions, and debates and open dialogue with policymakers. We do this through free online strategy sessions and a conference that takes place this year on May 29th in Amsterdam.
Borne from the idea of offering businesses a new meeting point to grow together and learn the art of scaling sustainably, the BASE conference is an event aimed at facilitating business interactions, sharing knowledge and resources, and helping build a better business environment based on collaboration and active support.
BASE is for scale ups and SMEs that are either growing or getting ready to grow.
What tips do you have for internationals who want to start-up or scale-up their business in the Netherlands?
Have a good understanding of the business landscape you want to operate in, know your client, be visible, and don’t forget to have some fun as well!
